Torremolinos, on Spain’s Costa del Sol, has transformed from a small fishing village into one of the region’s most vibrant seaside towns. Just a short drive from Málaga, it became famous in the mid-20th century as one of the first international beach destinations in Spain, attracting artists, celebrities, and travelers in search of sun and sea. Today, it remains popular for its wide sandy beaches, lively promenade, and mix of Andalusian character with cosmopolitan flair.

The town’s beaches stretch along the Mediterranean with beach bars serving fresh seafood, especially the local specialty: sardines grilled on skewers over open fires. Beyond the coast, Torremolinos reveals quieter corners such as its historic center, with narrow streets, plazas, and the Torre de los Molinos, the old watchtower that gave the town its name.
